You’re here for something to read, are ya? Well, don’t leave empty handed.
If you know me, you know that I love talking about creativity. Something that I don’t talk about all that often is that I enjoy exploring creative writing, too. And that often takes the form of short stories. I love a great premise, and I love seeing if I can spin it into a tiny tale.
Are there longer stories in me? Maybe. I’m working on that. These things take practice, and here I am; putting my free time out there for everyone to see.
If you’re interested, read on. Take from these tales whatever you will. Enjoy them. Criticize them. Tell me when you “just didn’t get it”. You can always reach me at pierre@ptabbiner.com, and I’d love to hear what you think.
2023:
Come Hither
I awoke from a dream with a single sentence echoing in my mind.
Leaving the Club
Some pleasures can’t be bought. Or can they?
The Gray House
Ever returned to the house you grew up in, only to feel like it’s not quite the way that you remember? What if it isn’t?
The Visitor
Time is fleeting; and that’s what makes it so special. For example: imagine being underwater. Holding your breath. It’s a beautiful place, and you long to stay here, alone and grateful—but you know that you’ve got to rise for breath. You’ll return immediately after, but it’s no longer the same place. Sound on for this one.
Unbroken
Is there a puddle, somewhere in this world, that’s never had a ripple cross its surface?
2024:
Adam and His Ten Dollar Day
Part of a series of children’s stories, this is a true tale of a friend of a friend who spent his money in a bit of a dumb way; but bought a lot more because of it.
Ashley and Her Pet Monster
Another in the series of children’s stories, this one tells of monsters and bravery; but issues a warning of where true danger actually lies.
The Bench Where Problems Are Solved
A friend of mine takes a weekly ride with his bicycling buddy, and they make a habit to stop at a particular park bench every time. There, they open up, and share the things that are causing them strife, as well as suggestions and solutions. This is The Bench Where Problems Are Solved.
2025:
Dave and Oscar
Why are some fish so frantic when you approach their tank? A short tale about something that I’ve always found a little unsettling.
Forward, Back
A true story detailing a quest for a long-thought-dead way of life, and how, deep down, you’ll often find exactly what you’re looking for, if you look hard enough.
