NNAS / BRANDING / NATIONAL NURSING ASSESSMENT SERVICE
The National Nursing Assessment Service (NNAS, or SNEI if your first language is French) is an global-reaching organization designed to facilitate new nursing professionals considering Canada as a new home & workplace. I know that’s a mouthful, but my job is communications—we can simplify it.
In 2023, I worked with a larger team to help define the goals, gotchas, and guardrails that would accompany a major rebrand for an existing group. You see, NNAS is a not-for-profit that’s existed for a long time. Organizations like that tend to put branding & marketing second (or third, or fourth); this makes perfect sense, since their priorities are helping others. But, over time, it tends to lead to a brand experience that feels a little mismanaged, filled with stopgaps and quick solutions. The website gets clunky. The messaging goes stale. The logo’s aesthetics feel very, very dated.
So! We made some key decisions regarding their intended presence, and we prioritized a few key rules to live by. After tons of conversation, experimentation, and effort, we have a fresh new brand that’s intelligent, informed, and professional. Just like the amazing individuals that work with the NNAS every day.
A robust set of logos – English and French – were delivered, in all shapes, sizes, colourways and formats. Custom patterns & icons are in the mix, and this group is poised to take on the next decade in style.
Welcome to the world of Canadian nursing. You’re just what we need.
